Profile

Chris McDonough is a Farming Systems Consultant with over 32 years’experience agronomy, soils, natural resource management, agricultural extension and project management across South Australia and Internationally.

Chris has current and recent projects with Mallee Sustainable Farming (MSF), both the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board and Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board and SAGIT, working with many farmer groups with practical farm based trials, demonstrations, harvest report meetings and field days.

Chris has a PhD in International Agricultural Extension, a Graduate Diploma in Agriculture and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Natural Resource Management.

  • Understanding mallee seeps, targeting practical higher water use options to rehabilitate productive land and stop their spread

  • Group facilitation, adult learning and training in participatory extension approaches.
  • Extension of agricultural ideas, solutions and technologies through local and state wide farmer networks.
  • Working with farmers and communities to develop practical answers that help bring about real change.
